About the Car

2020 Opel Grandland X Hybrid4 EU

  • On the touch screen: specific functions for the hybrid such as e-Save and the charge level

  • Avoid collisions: crash alert and automatic emergency braking

With two electric motors and a 1.6-liter petrol engine, the Opel Grandland Hybrid4 is a lot of fun to drive (CO2 emissions of 29-41 g / km). The state-of-the-art infotainment systems allow the driver to always have all the necessary information in sight. Hybrid-specific data can be viewed on the Navi 5.0 IntelliLink color touch screen (standard, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) or on the dashboard screen (DIC). The car also has the OpelConnect service on board.

Numerous assistance systems make driving this hybrid SUV safe and comfortable. The standard equipment ranges from the Accident Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Detection, to the Sleep Prevention System. Comfort is further increased thanks to features such as ergonomic seats with AGR certification, dual-zone climate control, sensor-controlled tailgate and the Keyless Open & Start entry system.

Everything under control: information on the situation of the hybrid system

At the wheel of the Opel Grandland X Hybrid4, functions such as the selected driving mode (electric, hybrid, all-wheel drive or Sport) can be monitored, or whether the system is recovering energy during braking or deceleration.

The eight-inch color touch screen of the infotainment system shows the following information:

  • Energy consumption and flow are shown in the form of diagrams or pictograms of cars, heat engines and electric motors.

  • Charge, operation and consumption statistics.

  • Battery charge level and nearest charging stations and destinations along the route (displayed by the navigator).

  • The e-Save function conserves the electricity stored in the high-voltage battery for later use, for example to drive in areas where access is limited to electric vehicles. You can decide to conserve all the energy present in the battery or part of it.

The safety of the Opel Grandland X Hybrid4 is further enhanced by the numerous driver assistance systems fitted as standard, which include:

  • OpelConnect: makes every journey even more relaxing for the driver and passengers. The service includes live navigation with real-time traffic information and fuel prices, direct connection to roadside assistance and e-Call.

  • Crash Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Detection. If you approach a vehicle or pedestrian too quickly, the system activates an audible alarm and displays a message in the dashboard screen (DIC). If a collision is imminent, the system prepares the braking system and, if necessary, activates emergency braking to minimize the effects of the collision.

  • Lane keeping system: warns if the car inadvertently leaves the lane. The system intervenes slightly on the steering to bring the vehicle back into its lane. The driver feels a slight rotation of the steering wheel.

  • Sleep prevention system: activates an alert if the vehicle’s trajectory indicates fatigue or inattention of the driver. A message appears in the dashboard screen (DIC) and an audible alarm sounds.

  • Side blind spot alert: helps to avoid accidents during lane changes if it detects an object in the blind spot. When the system registers an object that may not be visible, an alert appears in the rear view mirrors.

  • Front and rear park assist: simplifies parking maneuvers.

  • Traffic Sign Recognition: detects speed limits and displays them on the dashboard screen (DIC).

  • Cruise control with intelligent speed limiter: maintains the speed set by the driver. Together with Road Sign Recognition which detects speed limits and displays them on the dashboard screen (DIC), the system allows you to quickly adapt the speed of the car.

The standard equipment of the Opel Grandland X Hybrid4 can be further enriched with the following technologies:

  • Cruise control active: maintains the set distance from the vehicle in front.

  • When reversing, the rear view camera with park pilot shows the area behind the vehicle in the infotainment system screen, making parking maneuvers easier.

  • In reverse, the panoramic camera shows the environment around the vehicle with a 360-degree top view.

  • Active LED headlights ensure variable beam distribution for urban driving, country roads and motorways. The headlights are equipped with functions for static and dynamic lighting when cornering and for adverse weather conditions. The high beam assistant automatically switches to low beam so as not to disturb other drivers. The length of the light beam is automatically adapted.
