About the Car

1995 Acura NSX-T

In a world premier showing at the 1995 North American International Auto Show, Acura Automobile Division unveiled its new 1995 open-top version of its exotic NSX sports car, the Acura NSX-T.

The Acura NSX-T features an easily removable roof panel for open-air driving along with a unique storage system which maintains uncompromised luggage capacity and interior space.

“The new open-top NSX-T will broaden the appeal of the NSX by adding a new dimension to the car”, said Rich Thomas, Acura executive vice president. “The addition of the new NSX-T to the line-up, also clearly demonstrates Acura’s commitment to this exciting market segment.”

Also new for 1995, is the introduction of a new Formula One-inspired SportShift system for automatic transmission equipped models. The new system features a selectable manual shift mode which incorporates a unique steering column mounted finger-tip shift control. The transmission can operate either as fully automatic or be shifted manually for high performance driving by moving the steering column mounted flipper lever up or down.

The NSX is a showcase of leading-edge technology. As the world’s first all-aluminum production automobile, the NSX has an outstanding power-to-weight ratio, while its 270 horsepower, DOHC, 24-valve, VTEC equipped engine provides true world class perfonnance.

Additional new features include a drive-by-wire electronic throttle control system, Acura’s exclusive electric power steering system on all models and additional perfonnance modifications including an updated traction control system and new torque reactive differential.

The Acura NSX-T open-top model went on sale in March 1995 at nearly 300 Acura dealers in the US
